Bystander

My sympathetic nervous system reacts and I’m in fight or flight mode

The automatic nervous system is responsible for regulating the bodies unconscious actions

My body betrays me it reacts without my permission

They say the human body is a temple but temples are predictable

I’m just trying to pass my classes while messages travel through the sympathetic nervous system in a bi-directional flow,

Everything is out of control!

I manifest and disappear

The feeling of molasses as it warmly drips out my ear taking with it my cognitive functions

Out seeping my rational actions, my desires, my hopes, all of that in that fashion

The body does as it pleases, I try to force it to comply but it doesn’t hear my cry

There’s no fighting that gravitational pull

The neurons have started firing, blood vessels contracting

A symbiotic dance of destruction

The body knows not of desire only the will at which it fires

Your sympathetic nervous system reacts and your body manipulates you, it takes over, it shoves you aside while you scream “this isn’t over!”

The lights gets bright, sounds are deafening

You live in a tunnel, you feel like a bystander in your own body

Swirls, swirls, swirls

Emotions are tumultuous twirls
