The C Word

Like a leech

it attaches to the body

and doesn’t let go

multiplying continually

like a swarm of larvae

underneath a rock

that a curious little kid

 kicks over.

Slowly but surely

it takes over

Attempts to clean it up

seem to appease

but it keeps coming back

to prevail is victory

that malware lingers

your system slows

your software hacked

inflicting abuse

upon abuse

on your hard drive

until it’s so unrecognizable

that your desktop

can’t

interpret it

anymore.
