Cafe Man

Here and there sits a cafe man
Whose thoughts are those no one can understand
He sits with his coffee, laptop, and book
With a solace that others tend to overlook

For what could this mysterious man be hiding,
In this vibrant, yet low, and tender lighting
He types with grace and drinks his drink
Oh the thoughts, the thoughts, this man must think

Or perhaps it isn’t whats inside thats so intriguing
His appearance is one that is very pleasing
He wears clothes not that of a rich man
But a grey beanie, and a sweater black and tan

This man is never bothered by the lively surroundings
His attention to his work is truly astounding
Always focused, never mindless
Full of imagination and kindness
Occasionally sitting in different places
Constantly studying different faces

Where does he come from everyday
Perhaps a meeting, a movie, or play
These questions you’ll ask when you see him sit down
But don’t be judgmental to this king with no crown

For if you get to close to the man seated there
His stories are ones that are hard for him to share
It is a commitment to those who are curious
And often a mistake, because you’ll end up furious

So hard to understand or even evaluate
But to those who share his story, can tolerate
So why such a mystery, this man in plain site
If you really want to know, step into his light
For here and there sits a cafe man
Whose thoughts maybe those, someone can understand
