Cage

Perhaps one of my worst traits

is dreaming

I dream to leave behind my soft spoken nature

To demonstrate confidence

I dream to hear the waves of

Applause surrounding me.

To have the people on the edge of their seats

I dream to prove those who called me

Bitter
Boring
Plain
wrong

But, I never let them exacerbate my insecurities.

For inside, I am lively and I dream.

There is nothing more sweet

than the beauty of The Arts.

I dream to be a writer.

To learn the Ins & Outs of the Stage

But, I cannot.

For, I am just a small bird
In my monumental cage

Of Doubt.
