Cage

A tiger locked behind bars

Alone among parked cars

The tiger dreams

Of starry nights

Of wild runs

And firefly lights

He dreams of the trees

Of the rabbits he longs to chase

He dreams of endless greens

The tiger dreams of freedom

The tiger roars

In the dead of night

Pleading with anyone

To listen to his rights

He thinks of his past

How he used to bite and scare

How he was fee to hunt

When there always was some prey to spare

Behind bars he sits,

Helpless, being pulled for miles and miles

But the question is there, unanswered

Since when do monsters trigger smiles?
