Caged
Like a lion being tamed
At each whip I am enraged
To think
That I
Could change
But things always seem
To stay the same
Wondering
How I got so lost
The plaque in my mind
I can't floss
Out!
I want out
Out of my mind
Out my soul
Tired of allowing the senses
Of my flesh take control
I'm so...
Exhausted
Of fighting the same fight
Reaching out to Jesus
Because I know He is
The Light
But the light fades
And changes to a different shade
Of grey
Repelling the pain
But it recedes
Oh so slowly
Then I'm chasing what I can't have
Like Wil.E.Coyote
Roadrunner slips by
I can't grab it with my hands
Feeling like my feet
Are stepping on hot sand
Each step to freedom
Is raked with pain
And it does no less to free
My
Caged brain
But like King
I have a dream!
To break the seam
That traps my life
I have a dream!
That I will have no strife
And I can breathe
The fresh air free from
Worry
Lies
Selfishness
Pain
I am again reminded of how He
Was slain...
For me
So I can live my life whole
And without faults
No more stress
Because His blood
Paid the cost
For my soul and spirit
No longer am I lost!
My body sealed
Stitched up with a suture
My iniquities gone
Past Present and Future
The demons cower
Hide in surprise
Empowered like Angelou
Still I rise
With God by my side
Death
Is no longer my surmise
No longer whipped
Sore at the flagon
Out the caged I roar
With the fire of a dragon
No more should I lack
The world cowers at my feet
Because Christ is on my side
No power can meet
After the demons die
I turn to His face
And then I smile
For His name is
Grace
