The Caged Bird

They say that the caged bird sings but they also sagely quote, that history is written, by conquerors. So will we ever know? does the caged bird truly sing or is it merely screaming inside, and letting the song of its internal beauty flow forth in a torrent of mortal grief. The sun will surely shine, more rain will surely fall but never was there a guarantee of the happiness of a caged bird. and so it sings but sings in agony, not of joy not of victory it sings a song of death a joyless, heartbroken song that promises unending woe. The harps of the children of Zion gone wrong will someday hang upon a willow, will hang over the unflowing, parched and barren earth of some river out of Babylon. for these children, there song has left. but will they still remember to cry? The caged bird sings, tho its heart is still outside, away, free from the cruel bronze bars of its prison cell. even tho, its song, its truest song the song of joy and merry flight is dead its cry remains. But what then, if it loses its cry? what will become of it then? will it ever heal or is it doomed doomed to die a prisoner, behind one curved wall? They say that a caged bird sings, i tell u that it crys, it crys until its lifeblood pours, away and empties from its very soul. and when its cry is gone the cold and wicked hands of death will wrap about its neck dragging it to where it will forever regret the day it lost its song.
