Caged like a bird

I want to fly over the ocean,

my wings carrying through the sky.

My eyes reflecting the sun's light,

And I see the mountains in the horizon.

I imagine the world I yet to explore,

My dreams ready to be set free.

Reality cages me with no escape,

Society's hands cludge my dreams.

I wither in sadness not seeing the Sun,

Nor the water underneath me.

My wings vanished carrying the wind with them,

And I hear the harsh words.

To smile and seek approval,

Lying through my teeth.

Only my eyes show the true form,

To break out of this cage.
