The Cake is a Lie
Everything is a sugar coating of the truth.
flavored with the tears of those who cry,
tales told of fantasies most uncouth,
where hopes and dreams lay to rest and die.
Think of all the corruption we hold inside,
but refuse to express of out of fear;
What’s within the cake is for you to decide.
Its very existence is something unclear.
Insecurities shut away, baked and sunken
into a cast of exquisite fondue
A single, large mass of dough shrunken
adorned with icy frosting and crumbs of residue.
Tiers of deceit piled layer upon layer,
those dream-filled words that decorate this forsaken cake
are nothing to reality and only a prayer.
So please, search for honesty, and for your sake
remember,
that the cake is a lie.
