Cake for a Spider

Baked a cake, chocolate of course

Three layers of creamy, delicious goo

Covered in frosting from a can

Even added a sugar carved spider and called it, Fred.

Its sitting on the table

Empty chairs all around

A bit dusty and remnants of a candle burnt out long ago.

No spiders came, that is until they spied the uninvited guest...

A lady bug flew through the window to escape the frost and death

i smiled watching the lady and spiders dance

Next time it will be macaroni and cheese;

Maybe there will come some mice and fleas.
