The Call
Hello Mother,
Watch as the tears fall
Her voice scratchy from giving out her call
She has tried to calm her children
But all she can do is watch as they fall.
She attempts to cradle them to her chest
But all they do is cut her breast.
The little ones run and cry for help
But Mother feels faint and lays her head
The sky turns brown, and the floor burns like Hell
Her children crawl and groan in pain
But Mother is gone and has faded to dust
The Earth is crying, do you hear her call?
With love,
William Cook
