A Call to Battle

The mechanism within his heart turned and twisted, Warping coursing blood and brittle bone to iron cold. Some strange alchemy with all elements neatly listed. The heart became a machine and the eyes possessed the soul. With nothing to sate his slavering maw, the glutton of gold Slayed the dreams of others, with wicked grins and knives; Carving gently, eviscerating dreams, making dead the bold. Mercilessly blinding, burning out the sight of possible seers. Who will rise up against him, saving so many countless lives? Who will follow in the trail of stars without succumbing to night, Battling against the passive empires where melancholy thrives? The hero who has swallowed the sun, with fire in his bones, must rise; With fervored force and a fierce battle cry he rages with all his might To crush the ones who subjugate his fellow sisters and brothers' right. It could be any one of you, who manages to keep the embers burning, To keep the fire blazing, the taste of life fresh, keep the blood turning. Do not forget the cold bodies beside you, the screams full of fear; Do not forget the wicked leering smiles that lurk ever so near. Take up the banner of the war and charge without a second thought, Follow the beating of your heart and remember those who fought. Life is not a passive game of titles and gaining silver pieces, It is a battlefield where all but death eventually ceases. Abandon the shade, step into the light, note the shadow's fall; Fight for the truth, the word, the life; return to it your all.
