Call Me Coach Cater
I'm not the best player but I love the game
I stumble and fall and end up on my ass most of the time.
The nerves, butterflies, and sweaty palms I wouldn’t change any of it.
I’m not the best player but it gives me courage
The way the ball feels in my hands makes me believe that I can take on anything- even if that overconfidence leads to turnovers and mistakes.
I’m not the best player but I can’t live without it
I can’t count the amount of times I’ve missed a shot, but neither can I count the amount of times I’ve wanted to get back on the court.
I’m not the best player but I sure as hell give all my effort
I’m most likely the slowest on the team but you better believe I’m running my ass down the court.
I’m not the best player but that doesn’t matter
From running lines at the end of practice to game day celebrations I love it all.
Like the oxygen I struggle to breathe in at the end of a quarter, Basketball is just as vital to me.
I’m not the best player but I am a better person
Through defeats and victories I learn who I am and that’s something I can’t live without.
