Call Me Crazy
I live for the nerves
As I toe the start
For the adrenaline rush
And a pounding heart
I fight through fatigue
That sets in at the mile
And prepare for the second
A most difficult trial
I welcome the hills
And the burning fire
Every step harder
As I continue to tire
The third mile passes
The end is in sight
Here comes the hardest
Part of the fight
My legs move without thought
Numb, weightless, fast
Kicking and kicking
Can't afford to get passed
Crossing the finish
No strength to be found
My knees want to buckle
To collapse on the ground
I am a runner
And I love to run
Call me crazy
But I think it's fun
What others dread
I embrace
What others hate
Is my happy place
I am cross country
I love to run
Call me crazy
But I think it's fun
