Call me Evelina

I am not from your land or anywhere near
I come from a place of rainbows and fields.
From a place where the grass grows green
And the flowers spread their aroma.
This land is a fairytale, and is rarely under siege
The place I come from is Moldova.
But don’t ask me to utter a Moldavian word
For I speak in a couple different tongues, but not the one you ask.
There’s not many people like me
In this wonderful land covered in vines.
Many have hair the color of a raven’s wing
And darker than the deepest lake.
But I, you see,
Have eyes like light sapphire stones
And hair of gold string spun from straw.
But I feel closer to my people
For they are caring and kind.
They are willing to help, but that’s before they’re even asked.
We are like you
But different in so many ways.
One difference that we surely have, is my name:
You call me Evelina.
