call me the rain
I need you to know not that I'm not okay
Not on the best of nights
Or the darkest days
It feels like I'm split in two
Fractured inside myself
And yet, I feel like I know you
Maybe better than I know myself
It feels like I've known you for a hundred years
And every time I see you I feel like I'm just meeting myself
And I could not be more okay with it
Maybe you're deluded
To want to know me like you do
If that's the case, then call me crazy too
I crave to know you
Every nook and cranny
Every crack and corner
Every passing whisper that almost escapes my ears
I crave to hear it, to hear you
I know I'm a mess
All I ask is that you stay true
And that you stick with me
I may be a mess, but I can be an adventure, too
Sure, the sunshine is great
But it's the rain that tells the best stories
It's the sun gets you through the day
But it's the night that let's you know you're not alone
So call me the rain
And call me the night
I can be the demon
To your hell alright
I may not have it all figured out
I may have some things to work through
But together, we can dance and laugh
We can sing every song that has ever been sung
Carve our names into every tree
Swim across oceans
See all that can be seen
I want to do the impossible with you
Together we can make the impossible come true
And maybe together we can shut out the world
I don't know where I'm going
But I know I want to be where you are
Sometimes, I feel so alone
And I know you do too
So let's do each other a favor
And let's be alone, together
So call me the rain
And call me the night
I can be the demon
To your hell alright
