A Call for the Unentitled
The greenest greeneries are not at the scenes,
But rather at the seams,
Dividing and Defining the lines
Between you and me.
They forced separation upon us.
Prior generations making these distinctions.
White and Black.
We can’t even see our faces.
Broken, Blurry-eyed, Beaten, and Blinded,
Tears drip into the pool of Disgrace.
Who’s the real savage?
If we are all animals.
A fly on the wall,
I see it, I hear it.
What can I do?
If they think I can’t relate.
It’s geared for the teens,
You know them, the ones
Smilin, Crimin, Runnin from the Screams.
Lashed back and back Lashed,
It hurt to see them try,
But it’s about the mutual education,
And the studying of how time flies.
They need to know, I care too.
I try, Oh do I try!
Some’s ignorance is their bliss,
But here, that bliss is my aggravation.
Coexist stickers fill up the bumper,
Sayin and claimin, but ain’t a Damn thing changin.
Haven’t you learned that?
That’s not how we create these friendly exchanges.
A cultural shift. Progression.
A movement towards Justice
Like a procession. Miscible we are,
Merging into the grey area that once divided us.
We nurture our creation, a new society,
Kindle the fire that drives us to inspire,
We tend to this Land of Confusion,
Grown into a Land of Unified Division,
Because,
The greenest greeneries are not at the scenes,
But rather at the seams,
Unifying and Redefining the lines
Between you and me.
Lashed, Oppresed, and Violated, but “Equal.”
