Calla Lily

It is so beautiful and tall

It’s trumpet playing out to all

Some may think I’m acting silly

For my love: a calla lily

Such fine grace from stem to flower

Grows more regal every hour

Somehow it just makes me giddy

For my love: a calla lily

Because to many it’s quite odd

Heads shake but on occasion nod;

People know I get quite silly

For my love: a calla lily

But no! I shall not change myself

And set my dreams upon the shelf

I know how jealous they must be

For my love: a calla lily
