The Calm I Need

Mellow sand sliding between my toes

Gentle wind brushing past my ears

How I will survive only my God knows

He is there to take away my tears.

Summer nights are now all I know

Warm and harsh, with stars strung all above

My God is there to help me grow

All I need is to feel his calming love.

Morning comes and I know all will be well

Safe and sound I take this time to focus on Him

My God was there even before I could tell

He will be by my side whether I sink or swim
