the calm of it all-sun

the calm of it all-

sun across the grass, filters through the trees

heat radiating up from the sidewalk as i sit silent,

and observe.

my legs are indented with the bumps of the ground

but i can't move from this spot as

the sun

warm

radiates across my skin

long forgetten beside me is whatever book i have brought outside

simply absorbing the world

eyes closed.

perhaps this is what it feels like

to be truly content
