Calm Before the Storm

Softer than a blanket, sweeter than Iced tea. Comforting as mother possibly could be. Draws you in, holds you close. Makes you feel safe and warm. This is what it feels like. The calm before the storm. Want to run and hide, but it makes you want to stay. Then the calm ends and you're blown away. take my hand we'll go far from harm. Won't be fooled by the calm before the storm. Now you're safe, or so you think. But you still see clouds and your heart begins to sink. You know we tried but it's just the norm. You can't escape the calm before the storm.
