A Calm World

Mon, 03/21/2016 - 13:22 -- mhite98

The sun beat down on her face in harsh rays

The wind blew around her

She could smell the salt from the water

The concrete scratched at her feet

She felt the breeze with her fingers

She could only see red, the sun through her eyelids

The bottom of her dress caressed her thighs

She had saved her hair from whipping around

The elastic was just a little too tight

Some pieces had loosened and were flying around anyway

The waves were calming

In and out, in and out

Constant

Which is what she needed in her life

But, she felt calm

Her aura was clean, albeit slightly salty and burnt

But, she was glad

She had escaped to this world, though still the same world

A calm world

Where the only bad thing was salt in your eyes
