Calypso

It's the premier of his life’s work

He stands on a carpet painted red, awaiting his picture

He wears a black tuxedo and a silver bow-tie

There is nothing but camera lights, and noise for miles

He is cunning and careful not to confuse fans for foes

He walks, arms over his eyes, trying to get away

But his admires come in swarms

He is the titanic, and they’re the iceberg

Suddenly she appears, almost from thin air

Holding his hand, together they make their escape

With one gaze upon her, he is under her spell

She is his savior, his guardian angel, his everything

She is covered in gold and wears the night as her cloak

Her name is but a whisper in the wind, Calypso

And for her heroic gesture, he is forever in her debt

Together under the night sky, they nestle

Calypso offers the man in black freedom from the world’s watchful eyes

The man, now hopeless in love, is willing to abandon his journey, his life’s work for the mysterious stranger

She hands him a bottle with a blue liquid

Unquestioning he takes it and drinks

The sky then turns violet and the stars suddenly appear

From nowhere, a man bathed in mystery stands before them

The man, sent by those who paint the carpets red, stands there in silence resembling a statue

He wears a bright yellow hat with wings on the front

He captures the lover’s attention and makes his way to Calypso

Without a word, it's clear he intends to free the man in black

Calypso is reluctant to give him up

“Security!” the man in yellow shouts

Surprised and scared, Calypso vanishes in the darkness

The man in black stands there in confusion and sadness

The man in yellow leads him back to the crowds of fans

Just as sudden as he appeared, the man in yellow vanishes

Alone once again in endless noise and camera lights, the man in black looks up at the sky

The violet colors disappear along with the stars, and there sits a pitch black sky

“Congratulations you made it, I love you Odysseus!” a fan yells as the man in black enters the theater.
