The Camera's Failure

The Camera has failed me many times

As when the shutter clicks 

And everyone smiles

I grimace inwardly at the sheer falseness

of what this life is.

Just as the fear of failure is hidden

and is swapped for a beaming face,

The Camera makes it so

that it comes out clear.

And the happy smile that is hiding a pain,

a pain of a broken family,

is captured so splendidly,

that not even my mother knows 

I am hurting.

The Camera has many failures

Hiding the pain of a broken heart

is only one of the many flaws 

to me
