Camouflage
I hide in plain sight. I don’t want people getting close, people seeing my battle scars. I hide and hide and hide. It’s a skill I’ve learned, camouflage. My depression can devour me, no one will see. I simply will not let them see, what’s going on inside of me. Camouflage helps me hide. Camouflage is my way to survive. One day as I run on a hidden trail, it comes looking for me. My camouflage cannot hide me from this. I realize life is short as I drop to the ground. I refuse to lose. I refuse to run. I refuse to hide any longer. He picks up his axe and swings. I refuse to die today. Now, I have a new battle scar. I refuse to lose. I refuse to run. I refuse to hide any longer.
So, this one I wear with pride.
