CAMOUFLAGE

Through the hallways, She moves like a wraith, Clothes resplendent in beauty, Eyes dazzlin', Lioness white armpit like, Necklaces enshroud her body, Like the cascading mistletoe, Yet her soul is down, Her spirits at their nadir, Her sadness at its apex. At the office, Walkin' past the doorman, She smiles with much ardour, White teeth, Obscuring the darkness, In her soul. Thin delicate lips hiding, The thickness of her pain, Her nice smile dazzles all, Her lugubrious thoughts, A swirlin' nebula. At the party, Rocking the gang, With her mirthless mirth. Her cynical laughs bless, Every fleck of sour humour, And to every flatter, A sardonic smile. No one knows what goes thru, Her emotions tucked away, In her flaxen hair. Her soul filled with, Plangent visions of, Unending night. But you ne'er know, Brightest colours, Nicest smiles, Loudest laughs, It was her perfect camouflage
