Campfire
Colorful fire crackling
On dry Michigan wood
Campfire smell filling my nose
Arms wrap around me
Holding me tight
I hear little voices
Singing songs of rolling hills
And the taps on shoulders
Signify love and community
Our arms linked in a circle
Around the burning fears
Of our past
Forever we remember
That this is where we are
Completely
thankfully
And utterly
ourselves
