Campfire

The flickering flames engulfed the wood I could smell it burning and saw sparks jumping around In that moment there was no better sound Silence was all that waited, there where I stood Small footsteps could be heard on the ground Without the fire there would only be cold And sometimes it’s better to just be surrounded by heat Just don’t let the flames get to you, or they’ll have you beat Keep that in mind as you try and stay bold There’s nothing in life that is truly neat The fire is simply your bravery When there is fear it quickly extinguishes Don’t let that keep away your wishes It will only try and strengthen your fury There are plenty of fishes
