Are changing E V E R Y T H I N G about themselves

Just to fit in?

While all schools do is promote

That you need to be yourself

B U T

That’s not quite true 

Is it?

Can this be true?

Girls must look a certain way,

Dress a certain way,

Act a certain way,

While

Boys must be S T R O N G

A T H L E T I C

And E M O T I O N L E S S

Just to fit in?

Why?

Why do we let society define us? 

Why do we let negative comments matter more to us than the square root of 16?

Why do their opinions matter but ours don’t?

Can this be true?

Young boys and girls feel

Alone

Scared

Broken?

All because

They T R I E D to fit in

All because

They D I D what they were told

All because 

They W A N T E D to feel loved

There are girls and boys

In the world

Hurting themselves

Or

Starving themselves

Teens and young adults

Around the world

Are corrupting their bodies

Just so people

Who most likely won’t matter to them in the future

Will like them and accept them?

Can this be true?

The hurt

The pain

The sorrow?

Someone will go through
