Can You Hear My Heart?

I know that you were broken

and you knew that I was too

still yet we both treaded a step closer on this treacherous road.

The moment your voice cracked

and a tear rolled down your cheek

my heart cracked.

"What is love?" I asked.

"Something nonexistent

yet so real at the same time."

our fantasy

the eclipse where we first met.

We stood in silence and comfort

on cold days, you became a blanket of warmth

on rainy days, you became my umbrella

There was no need to tell you, "Make me love you."

you already did

before I knew it I fell for you.

My world of darkness

you painted

as if I was a canvas.

lying togehter

your warm fingers and soft voice

we were in paradise

as if we were in Paris

you were beautiful

I'll remember

we're not together

we never were

but still yet I'll ask and say,

"Have you eaten?

Did you sleep?

Drive safe.

Call me when you get home."

A border was built

I stand just outside the line I can never cross.

now there's just this love letter

I trusted you

I still do

You found a different shelter,

as it breaks my heart to see you happy with someone else

I let you go

seeing you happy is all I could ask for

even if it's not with me.

you're still sweet as ever

like a strawberry

I thought about you

day and night

crying and crying.

but I dry my tears

you're the first person I think about when I wake up

and the last person I envision before I fall asleep

you taught me what it means to be happy

it's you that I'm fighting for

and for that

I'm fine

I'll be yours forever

I look up to you still

you shine like a constellation

shooting star

grant me a wish

as time passes

and seasons change

and flowers bloom

please just be safe, healthy and happy

I'm sorry

you became the cold breeze, but my embrace

you became the rain, but my umbrella

I'll be fine

even when it's not fine

because I loved you.
