THE CANADIAN CLANDESTINE
THE CANADIAN CLANDESTINE
(by Ayesha Khalid)
it is the cemented chandelier above the globe roof
strong and wide hovering on top like the horse hoof
it sends smoking signals far and wide as the loud sound
people come running to this attraction which is all around
it is the second largest country in the world
heavens in disguise from the mighty lord
it is clustered with beautiful bounties as a sparkle
tingling tentacles of luck thrive as a twinkle
for many it is the glowing gold mine
they dream of it as the only place for them so fine
hard work always pays back either here or there all
all flock to make it stronger and forget to fortify their own wall
no matter how much they are blessed in their own house
they love to take a dive in it and play the game of cat and mouse
some get lucky and some just blame the fate
dreams of some become reality and some are just too late
it is the place where bread and butter spreads like in an intestine
even if it gets tougher toddlers still throttle to tangle in the Canadian clandestine
