Cancer

Death, sadness, tears.
All a natural part of life.
Anger, love, fears.
Why do they cause such strife?
Everyone knows these feelings, some better than others.
The wheelings and dealings sometimes really bother.
I'm amazed that some don't cry.
I just stare and gaze, tears filling my eyes.
Cancer is a fateful foe, and good doesn't always battle best.
Sometimes cancer leads to woe, a heavy weight placed on your chest
I'm suppose to be at peace knowing she feels no pain.
Her soul has been released, no more chains.
But this doesn't ease my restless soul.
I feel the breeze, but what was the goal?

Cancer is a tough thing to go through, whether you're the patient or a family member of a person you've known whose been diagnosed with it. I commend you for writing about such a sensitive and touching topic. I could see you expanding on the first three lines as an opportunity for the poem to detail what it's like to feel anger, love, and fear...or the fear of death, sadness, or tears. It might make the poem longer but, it'd give you the chance to express more of your feelings. Just a suggestion! I do like the rhyme scheme and rhyming words you've used throughout the poem. And again, I commend you for writing about such a tough topic. I hope you continue to write about the tough subjects because writing is one of the best ways to let out your emotions, feelings, and concerns! I know that that's one of the main reasons I write myself. :)
