Cancer

You, having always shown vigorousness,

Now lies humbly in a hospital bed.

"Do not fear the loss of me" you once said.

But how can I not? I see your distress!

A life without you is complete dullness.

Having you leave me is what I most dread.

In desperation for your health I pled.

Knowing you won't win this fight brings me stress.

Yet, I doubt not your journey in heaven.

For you will now be as free as nature.

You, the light of my life, will not perish.

Pale skin and bald head, you've been denatured.

With faith, my broken heart I must leaven.

The memories I will always cherish.
