Cancers Many Faces...

I see their faces, so sad and small

Knowing they will never grow up to be tall,

They fight with courage, dignity and grace

In hopes of winning this battle they face.

Their families, they stand, by their bedside and wait

Hoping this disease won't be their fate,

Seems so unfair, not right, not just

But holding it together for them is a must...

In one room a family gets the good news,

the treatments are working and this lights of fuse

of happiness, relief and joy

of knowing their little one will make it past the age of toys...

In another room a family's worst fears come true,

knowing their baby will not be one of the few

who will live out their life happy and strong

in so many ways, it just seems so wrong...

So I pray for all the little ones, their families and friends

that they, too, will hear their good news in the end...
