The Candle

The candle whittles in the darkness, slicing through the demons who lurk in the unknown. It gives a glimpse into the past, present and future. It serves as a watchful guardian who gives us peace. Without it, we would perish into our atrocious nightmares, engulfing us before we can gasp or last breath.

This poem inspires me to confront my fears of the darkness. I still sleep with a nighlight!
