Candle
She is like a candle.
From a distance, she shines,
bright as day.
She illuminates the night.
She stands strong,
unwilling to move.
But the closer you get to her,
the more you see her flaws.
Though she seems to emit just one,
blinding color,
she is revealed to have many hidden hues
that are faded,
drowning in the world around her.
With the slightest breath,
she flickers,
unable to bear the pressure.
And eventually,
she will reach the end of her wick.
Eventually,
she
will
burn
out.
