A Candle Extinguished
I look up at the clouds sometimes and wonder
Behind the bushes those who laugh
hiding never found
Happy where they hide themselves
linger in the dark
Smile, smiles hide the fear,
never hear
Through the Secret Forest
Cross the Bridge of Light
I look up at the sun somehow
and wander through the night
Near the trees, they hide themselves,
heard but never seen
Sad and lonely, all alone
in the bright daylight
Cry, cry to make them feel,
crying just to show
Feelings Come and Feelings Go
Cross the Endless Snow
I look up through the fog at times
and wish forever now
Near the flowers, lie in the garden
sitting in plain sight
Wistful thinking never ends
Wishing for the world
Vacant, vacancy in their mind
Vacant just to think
Thoughts They Feel, Thoughts They Know
Cross the Pit of Woe
I look up through the ground at night
and worry for their lives
In a coffin where they whisper
deep within the ground
At peace and done with toil
Sigh, sighing just to know
Sigh to Remember, Sigh and Imagine, Their Lives Forever Done
Cross Through the Gates of Hope
A Candle Extinguished
