Candlelight
i stare at a blank page
wishing it was the beginning, not the end.
i feel as though i'm going to burn a hole through the page
if i keep staring at it
i can see us laughing and walking along the side of a deserted road together
no regrets - no tears
watching as the sun sets slowly in the distance,
thinking how this will be us soon.
as our paths veer out, we will slowly drift farther away
just as the sun drifts farther away from us until morning -
i think about you every day and every night
especially when i fall asleep by candlelight
