cant let you get close to me

Can’t let you close to me

You’re beautiful, not only the  eye can see

all the soft spots I have for you

Looking at you gives me butterflies

I smile inside out when your name is mentioned

My heart is filled with joy when I hear your voice

But yet I can’t let you get close to me

I want your heart when I know i can't have it

You make me happy by just saying my name

But I have to hide it all because friendship means more

Loving you isn’t something I can stop nor do I want to

Just can’t let you get close

I hide behind smiles but I was hoping you would’d see through them

Maybe you do and you're just acting too

Call me six months later and I’ll show up

Call me anytime and I’ll be there

Letting you close is just something I can’t do

I’ll hate whoever comes later but I’ll be happy to see you happy

That’s how much you mean to me

I just can’t let you get close again
