Cants into Cans

I was used to it,

Being told I never could.

That I would never ammount to shit,

Cause I was from the hood.

I was a thug,

In and out of juvinnile detention centers,

All I wanted was a hug.

I went through court appointed mentor after court appointed mentor,

Then I found this one,

Well she found me.

She accepted all I had done,

She saw me for me.

I was finally worth something,

At least it seemed.

A year went by and our relationship aged,

We stayed in touch,

Now she's watching me walk across the stage.
