Captain Valero Smitten

The story that follows

is of a man whose heart was hollow

he was a scary man they say

and he's back again today

Captin Valero Smitten

all people feared him

this large man missing a limb

actually had a large, full heart

though too many times had been torn apart

Captain Valero Smitten

Lovers left him

he yet prayed for them

others attacked him

and he forgave them

Captain Valero Smitten

He died saving a boy

a shark shook him like a toy

his funeral was quite small

the little boy was all

on the bay his boat still sittin'

waitin'  waitin'  for

Captain Valero Smitten
