CAPTIVATED

Captivated in her thoughts. Feeling like she’s on a roller coaster that never stops or slows down, even when she screaming that’s enough. Like, love, lust, friendship, relationship, crush. Not knowing which one you are or which one she is. Can’t stomach the thought of the root of the problem “trouble”. Desperate like that lady in the bar going home with anyone who looks her way and smiles. Or classy like the lady in the coffee shop with the briefcase, slaying every man that thinks he can get some her goodies. Or last but not least, like that high school girl looking for love in something because she thinks if she doesn’t get it now she’ll never have it. Who is she? Who are we? Asking herself every day why she needs anyone other than herself. Confused on whether it just a phase or if it's life. Seeing the women in the bar, and the lady in the coffee shop. Wondering the difference between and short dress and a pants suit. Wondering which one she is, or wants to be. Too much to handle, not enough time to think, thoughts everywhere, no peace to be found. Except for sleep. Creeping in slowly and her accepting immediately, carefully putting her mind to rest. To dream a better dream than the reality around her. Allowing her to only be her for the moment.

I am Chelise. I write what I feel needs to be said in that moment. Writing isn't just a hobby for me. Writing is the way I survive and keep moving when my world seems to stop. I love writing. Writing is me.
