Captured Memory
Cool air circling around us.
Silence except for your breath.
In and out.
Wanting to say something to break the silence,
But not knowing what to say as to not upset you.
I turn my head slowly to see you laying still.
Your eyes glued to the ceiling as though it was more interesting than I was to you.
I watched as your chest slowly rose only to fall back down again.
And it reminded me of us.
Always getting back up only to be knocked back down again by our constant bickering and disagreements.
You slowly turn your head facing me,
And as our eyes locked I knew in that moment this is where I wanted to be.
Your eyes smiled at me as though nothing in the world could hurt us.
And in that room with you is now my favorite place to be.
