Cardboard Cutout
Your words were sculptures that brought the finest hands to shame
They formed castles and cathedrals,
oceans and mountains,
its own Wonder of the World
When you spoke of our future you wove a whole universe
and we were the Gods.
But you know I've always hated facades;
you know I believe once I see and your letters and paragraphs and declarations of love!
were just cardboard cutouts
Of what you merely wished to do for me,
for Us
But you made it seem impossible,
as if you could not
So you did not.
