Cardiac Arrest

Is this what cardiac arrest feels like? Like your ribs are shattering into so many pieces As if your chest is caving in on you Like your drowning in your own tears As if your heart is skipping way to many beats. My mind keeps dreaming of our first kiss. Then it hurts worse went you come to my rescue and kiss my cheek It is all going black now I knew when our lips first touched that your kiss would be my poision The ideal of you was my drug Your body sends me into a coma I thought when you left that i would get over my love attacks but when you told me you loved me it all came back So tell me is this what cardiac arrest feels like? Like your ribs are shattering into so many pieces As if your chest is caving in on you Like your drowning in your own tears As if your heart is skipping way too many beats Like your soul is burning As if your breath is gettiing harder and harder to catch I see my life flash before my eyes but its not my past i see my future The one I want with you i see the kids playin in the backyard, the big house, the cars. I can see you pullin me in your arms after a long day at work. I see myself sleeping in your embrace every night. I see me waking every morning to your kiss The more i see the more i want it i want it all. Your words are my weakness. When you say you love me my heart beats become rare. I gasp and my heart stops my poision hits my heart the doctors rush in and i feel the poundin on my chest but heart beat never returns . This is what cardiac arrest feels like?

This poem was absolutely breath taking, I absolutely love the lines "like your hear is taking too many beats," and "as if your breath is getting harder and harder to catch." They sort of make you feel that exact this as you're reading the poem and it makes it so much stronger and that much more emotional to read. Thank you so much for sending this in.

Becca.
