Caring About You
"Caring About You"
Caring about you is what I do best
It's waking up every morning wondering if you got up too
Or if you missed your alarm
And I have to call you over and over to wake you up.
Caring about you is always having a jacket handy,
because I know you get cold.
Because I know you are forgettful sometimes.
Because I fear you could freeze.
Caring about you is having bandaids on me.
Because I know that you are clumsy
Or your nervous habits or stratching your cuticles leave you bleeding.
And I don't want you to bleed.
Caring is never falling asleep angry,
Because it doesn't sit well with you.
Even though it may get hard to break you from your stubborness
On an argument that won't matter in the morning
I would rather be numb than fall asleep angry.
Caring is laying awake every night, worrying about the future.
Because once you fall asleep, my happiness diminishes
And I plunge into a world of stress and pain.
Because you are my rock
And I am yours.
Caring about you is what I do best.
