Carnival

The day grows dim, the sun sinks down Lights flicker on, illuminating the night Bright colours flashing everywhere As rides zoom ‘round and ‘round Lights flicker on, illuminating the night “Step right up, win some prizes!” As rides zoom ‘round and ‘round Faces glow laughter and squeals of delight “Step right up, win some prizes!” Game booths call and lure Faces glow laughter and squeals of delight Amid crowds of chaos and surprises Game booths call and lure It’s enough to get lost in this world Amid crowds of chaos and surprises Sparks and balloons and confetti blur It’s enough to get lost in this world The aromas of hot dogs and fried dough drift Sparks and balloons and confetti blur Good spirits waft in and out of happy souls The aromas of hot dogs and fried dough drift Little Timmy lets go of Mommy’s hand Good spirits waft in and out of happy souls Grown up Sally gets her first kiss Little Timmy lets go of Mommy’s hand It’s good to revisit childhood every now and then Grown up Sally gets her first kiss Who said carnivals are only a kid’s land? It’s good to revisit childhood every now and then Put on a grin, dance like crazy, go on rides Who said carnivals are only a kid’s land? You don’t grow old until you stop having fun
