Carpe Diem

This twisted existence of mine. Gnarled Contorted This wretched life I have Pathetic Worthless It is the way the world feels when looking upside down. Odd Not quite right I cajole it to take the shape that I wish for. Oh sweet life give me your nectar Beautiful flower let me inhale your fragrance Let me rest in your cool shade But alas, suffering is envious of life He takes what he can from her Bringing her to her knees Wounding her body Stealing her spirit Never satisfied And when she gets up Knocking her down again But she always, always Gets back up And this wretched life I have Pathetic Worthless This twisted existence of mine Gnarled Contorted Stands boldly Gaining strength Becoming more beautiful Taking more significance With each day I give to it And while suffering will never be satisfied My cup runneth over The today in my hands Will be forever mine If I drink deeply And ask for more.
