Carrie
The cold winter night freezes us to the core,
Making it seem like a new ice age has settled in our bones.
Our frosty breath visible only in the slightest of ways as our lips attract to each other
Like a honeybee to a flower. The moment your ruby lips touch mine, I feel an immense fire in my Stomach,
A fire that quenches the thirst of knowing what those soft, red and smooth lips feel like and what it’s like to feel right in the world.
Instantly, it isn't cold anymore and we aren’t sitting on the bank of a cold, murky pond but embracing,
Kindling the love for each other we had been so meek to show.
I hear the faintest whisper of an “I love you” and suddenly feel like I could Carrie the world.
More importantly, I can Carrie her burdens, her gloomy sorrow and her most terrible times but still be able to Carrie her spirits.
I feel myself thinking that I would be a fool if I were anywhere else, holding anyone else, but I don’t let my mind wander to far from the moment.
I say it back and can feel the vibrant word leave my mouth and surround her head, leaving a golden tinge to the air.
Nothing would stop me from supporting her and holding her hand as she strolled effortlessly through life’s challenges.
I look in her eyes and gaze into two beautiful, endless, grey pits. I sit there for a while, swimming in the sparkles of light hitting them.
There is a feeling I have never felt before and can feel myself sinking into a daze I will never come out of.
I now know what my father talked about when talking about “love”.
It’s to put your selfish wants away and do what’s best for the person who holds the key to the vault that is your heart.
Love is taking care of someone before yourself and being able to Carrie the weight them.
