Carry Away

My heart has been taken, taken far away

By the children who touch it, and carry it astray

My soul is inspired, by the ones who endure the pain

The abuse, the neglect, I just want to carry it away

The chilren they cry, "I want to go home"

But mom is the one who broke the little bones

My heart is on fire, with anger and rage

I want to carry away, carry away the pain

To understand, I will never

How you could hurt a child in vain

But the child still loves you, even through the pain

My heart is radiating love and hope

For the child that forgave, and carried away the pain.
